Known locally as the "Deserted Island", Isla Parita is a narrow 7km long sandy pier off the coast of Faro, and is actually the closest of the sandy islands that make up this stretch of coastline. Forming part of the Ria Formosa National Park, it is one of the best destinations. For those who want to escape the crowds and enjoy the peace of a remote undeveloped wilderness.
