Basmane Station

Basman Railway Station is a regional railway station between cities and a rapid transit station in Izmir. It was established in 1866 AD. The Transportation Authority used the station for passenger and freight operations, with a freight depot at the back of the station. The station and the railways are under Ottoman military control, and in 2006 the station was renovated and closed for passenger service, and in 2009 passenger service returned, making it one of the largest railway stations in the city, which is used by tourists and locals alike to move between parts of the city quickly and easily.
