Battistero di San Giovanni
The decision to build this stunning Gothic-style church was taken in 1303, and the two-tone marble exterior was completed in 1339 by the famous architect Celino de Nice. It is believed that this building was inspired by the eastern Levantine buildings, as this architect visited the Levant and admired the unique white and gray architecture. Inside, the church features a stunning golden altar and mosaic-covered walls.
