Bavarian National Museum
Founded in 1855 by King Maximilian II, the Bavarian National Museum (Bayerisches Nationalmuseum) is one of the most important museums of decorative arts in Europe and one of the largest in Germany, sprawling across a splendid resort-like stretch of relaxation. Among its highlights are a collection of medieval German sculpture, there are also important collections of bronzes, clocks, porcelain, and glass, and a large section devoted to the art and cultural history of Bavaria arranged chronologically from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.
