Description of the place
The bell tower is located in Bergamo near Visconti Castle, and it is also called the Castle Tower. It is a military tower that was built for defensive purposes. It became the property of the city in 1797 AD as it was used as the headquarters of the governorate. Since that time, it has undergone many restorations, the last of which was in 2010. The bell at the top of the tower has been re-operated, and it is considered an important tourist attraction in the city, due to its ancient history.
