Benaki Museum

This wonderful museum was established in 1930 by Antonis Benakis in the Benakis family mansion in the center of Athens, Greece. The museum houses Greek art from prehistoric times to modern times, as well as an extensive collection of Asian art. The museum also hosts exhibitions periodically. Although the museum initially housed a collection of Islamic art and Chinese ceramics, its reopening in 2000 led to the creation of museums focused on specific collections, allowing the main museum to focus on Greek culture throughout the country's history.
