Blood Compact Shrine
The shrine of the blood pact is one of the symbols of the city and one of its most important ancient landmarks. It was erected in 1565 AD, in celebration of the blood pact that took place between the Spanish conqueror Miguel López de Legazpi and the leader of Bohol Raja Sikatuna. He poured a little of their blood and shared it in a cup of drink as a peace treaty.
