Botanical Garden Diomedes Athens
The Diomedes Botanical Gardens were first opened to the public in 1975 on the basis of a donation to the Greek state by the politician and economist Alexander Diomidis, covering an area of 1,860 acres. The gardens are characterized by large trees and winding paths under them, flower beds with colorful flowers, wonderful herb gardens, swimming pools filled with water lilies and turtles hiding under their leaves, greenhouses filled with various cacti plants, and a beautiful bamboo grove. All this is accompanied by the scent of fresh flowers and multicolored butterflies. It is really a great place to enjoy and explore as it is full of amazing picturesque nature.
