Buda Castle Tunnel

Those coming from the end of Pest had to walk around the castle hill on the Buda side to be able to proceed north, and on February 10, 1853, four years after the completion of the Chain Bridge, construction of a tunnel across the hill began according to Adam Clark's plans. Then the tunnel was opened on March 6, 1856 for foot traffic, and on April 30, 1857 for car traffic, and its length is 350 meters, meaning it is close to the length of the Chain Bridge.
