Description of the place
The famous Bukit Mentek Hindu temple is located in Batur, an hour and a half from Denpasar. This temple and a large banyan tree somehow survived the molten lava from the eruption of Mount Batur in 1974 AD, which is why it is also known as the 'lucky temple'. It is built in classical Balinese architecture with stone carvings and high shrines.
