Burgerbibliothek of Berne

public library located in Bern, the institution traces its origins back to the Prostate Reformation. Until 1951 it belonged jointly to the city and university and was supported by the municipality of Bern and by donations from the public. The library's collection includes many wonderful books from the late Middle Ages. and more than 30,000 historical photographs of the city of Bern, and about 1,000 precious manuscripts, some of which date back to late antiquity. It is one of the most famous landmarks in the city, and is frequented by book and history lovers alike.
