Byrsa Hill

Tell Birsa (Birsa) was previously an ancient Phoenician castle with its origins dating back to the third century BC. According to local legends, it was inhabited by the founder and queen of Carthage, Queen Dido (Alyssa Alyssa). It is part of the archaeological site of Carthage, which many tourists visit every year. From the front of the hill, which is adorned with the ruins of the beautiful castle, you can see the Carthage Museum, the ancient ports and the blue Gulf of Tunis.
