Byzantine & Christian Museum
The Byzantine and Christian Museum - founded in 1914 and located in Athens - is one of the national museums of Greece. His specialties focus on religious artifacts of the early Christian, Byzantine, medieval, post-Byzantine and later periods. The museum contains more than 25,000 pieces, with rare collections of pictures, writings, wall paintings, pottery, fabrics, manuscripts, and copies of artifacts dating back to the period between the third century and the twentieth century AD. The size, scope and value of the museum's collections and exhibits make it a true storehouse of Byzantine and post-Byzantine art and culture.
