Canalejas Monument

The Canalejas Monument consists of a complex sculptural group that was architecturally designed with a base and a quadrangular column in the shape of a needle crowned with a free-standing sculpture surrounded by unique inscriptions. A lion on a circular shield with the emblems of "Leon", "Castilla", "Aragon" and "Navarra". There are two inscriptions in relief on the sides. "Commerce" contains allegorical signs of commercial activity in the city as well as a description of the work carried out to improve the port of Alicante.
