The Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial is a place to reflect on the 2010/11 earthquakes that changed Christchurch, New Zealand forever; It is a symbol of the trauma suffered by the city of Christchurch and its people. The structure was built with a garden with trees and benches on the north bank overlooking a terrace area and a marble covered wall with the names of those who lost their lives engraved on it.
