Central Market

This public market in Athens has been operating non-stop since 1886. It consists of a fish market, a vegetable market, and a meat market sprawled on both sides of the street. And in the meat market you will find historic shops that have been there since the 70's or earlier with excellent pure local meat cut right in front of you. The same goes for the fish market, which is full of fresh fish arriving there in the early hours of the morning. There is also a street selling spices and nuts, and a street selling dried fruits such as peaches, raisins, berries and others.
