Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Church is a Russian Orthodox church located on the top of Mount Karolnaya. Before the Cossacks arrived in the city, the church was a pagan temple for the Tatars, and the Cossacks added to the temple building a watchtower on the top of the mountain to notify citizens of enemy raids. The church was restored between 1973 and 1975, and repainted in the green color it was at the time it was built.
