Description of the place
St. Bernadette's Church is the last place of worship to be built within the vicinity of the precincts of Our Lady of Lourdes. It was opened in 1988 opposite the Massabielle Grotto on the right bank of the Gave de Pau River. This modern church, with removable facades, was built on the spot where it used to stand. Saint Bernadette Soubirous at the first apparition of the Virgin Mary on July 16, 1858.
