Church of St. Peter
St. Peter's Basilica was built in the ninth century AD, making it the oldest church in Zurich. The church changed significantly after renovations in the thirteenth century, and again in the early eighteenth century. Inside, there are stunning Baroque ceilings, a Romanesque choir, an elaborately carved pulpit, and interior frescoes that tell the stories of the martyrs and the Virgin Mary. The large clock on top of its towering tower is one of its most important features. It is one of the attractions that tourists coming to the city must visit.
