Acre Prison Castle is one of the most famous monuments in the city. It is a historical building built by Ahmed Pasha Al-Jazzar. This castle was used as a central prison during the British Mandate over Palestine, and death sentences were also carried out for Palestinian youth who resisted British colonialism and Jewish immigration in the 1930s, such as Muhammad Jamjoom. And Fouad Hijazi, and Atta Al-Zir, and later the castle was converted into a mental hospital. Today, the prison is one of the prominent archaeological sites in the city, and many interesting tours are organized there.
