City Walls

The walls of the old city in the city of Essaouira are considered the most beautiful ancient walls that you can walk around and see the long history that it tells and how it has repelled many attacks over the years. Despite the purely defensive purposes that were behind its construction, through small openings occupied by the nozzles of gunpowder cannons, the visitor to the Saqala city of Essaouira overlooks a wide sea horizon and a small island on which a defensive fort was also built, most of its walls have collapsed.
