Clifton Heritage National Park
Clifton Heritage National Park was established to preserve the historical and cultural legacy of the three human groups that have had a significant impact on the country, namely the Lukis (the original inhabitants of the Bahamas before European colonization), Loyalists, and Africans (brought as slaves to the Bahamas by Europeans). The park opened its doors in 2009, and visitors will find beaches, ancient buildings, rare plant and tree species, and dozens of species of animals, fish and birds.
