Description of the place
small square in Ljubljana dating back to the Baroque period. The original arena was completely rebuilt for the 1821 Congressional Convention and was subsequently named after him. At its southern end, the site of the former Provincial Palace, where the congress was held, is now the building of the University of Ljubljana, which was founded in 1894. The northern square is an important location for many historical monuments.
