Crane Gate

Located directly above the busy waterfront, the Gate Crane, which is part of the National Maritime Museum, was built in the mid-1500s and is the largest crane in medieval Europe. This crane is a symbol of the city, as it is linked to its maritime past and its power; It worked on installing ships, loading and unloading heavy goods from ships moored on the quay, where it can lift loads of up to 2000 kg.
