Description of the place
church dedicated to the Virgin Mary in the heart of Visegrad. It is a historic church built in 1884 to be the first Orthodox church in the city. It was built during the Ottoman era when the Ottomans gave the town’s Christian residents land to build the church on. The church was partially destroyed during World War II and rebuilt and renovated, and since then it has been one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city.
