Eger minaret
The minaret of Eger is one of the most prominent historical buildings dating back to the Ottoman rule in Europe. It was built shortly after the victory of the Turks in 1596, and it belonged to the Katkhuda Mosque. This 40-meter-high minaret was made of red sandstone, and it has four Ten sides, and after the imperial forces retook Eger in 1687, the townspeople tried to demolish it using 400 oxen, but to no avail. Reaching the narrow terrace requires climbing 97 small but high steps, but it is well worth the effort as it offers a unique panorama of the entire city from above.
