One of the monuments worth seeing if you are a fan of large and antique statues, this statue stands in honor of Joan Prim Prats, a Spanish soldier and politician who was briefly Prime Minister of Spain for 6 months until his assassination. He is best known for his leadership in the First Carlist War, was chief of the office of the Captaincy General of Puerto Rico, and was known for siding with the liberals against the authoritarian government. The monument represents Prim in military uniform, and the statue is located on a pedestal with scenes from his life appearing around him in reliefs including scenes of military exploits and the Battle of Castillejos.
