Description of the place
This ancient church is located just 10 kilometers northeast of the southernmost town of Najdi (Niǧde) in Cappadocia. This rock church has some impressive frescoes that rival those of the most famous churches in the world. The paintings date back to the 11th century and include the Annunciation and the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus flanked by the Archangels Gabriel and Mikael.
