Description of the place
Fort Fincastle was built by British colonists in 1793 to protect Nassau from pirates, because Nassau was considered the unofficial pirate capital prior to colonialism. The fort was built on Bennett Hills, and its windows and towers overlook the city of Nassau and the Queen's Stairs, and visitors can reach it on foot. During their wandering around the fort, visitors will find several huge cannons, fortification walls and huge gates.
