Fountain of Porta Cavalleggeri
The Porta Cavaligeri Fountain is located in the Vatican City. It was erected by Pope Pius IV in 1565 AD for use by the Papal Guard, whose barracks were nearby. The basin is a former stone sarcophagus with a lion's head that looks as if water was flowing from it at one time along with two other streams that continue to flow from this fountain to this day.
