Frits Philips Monument
The Frits Philips Monument is located on the market square in the city center of Eindhoven. It was unveiled to the public in 1997. It is the work of the famous Dutch sculptor Kees Verkade. The Frits Philips family was shown five models of possible sculptures. To choose from and think the current model is the most appropriate. The statue is made entirely of bronze and is about three feet high. It represents the nephew of one of the pioneers of the Philips company, Gerard Philips, who later became president of the company, and then died at the age of 100 in 2005.
