Description of the place
Funicular dos Guendes is a funicular that runs along a steep hill connecting the riverside neighborhood of Ribeira to the uptown Batalha district. It was inaugurated in 1891 and later renovated in 1994. One of the main advantages of using this mode of transport is The views you get are of the Dom Luis I Bridge, the medieval city walls of Porto and the cellars of the old houses on the waterfront.
