Galley Plateau

The Kadirca Festival is Turkey's most famous celebration; It takes place on this plateau in the province of Trabzon. People from the four districts gather on it during the third week of July for three days of festivities. Some of the ceremonies suggest a ritual origin from ancient and forgotten hostilities relating to the delicate matter of demarcating the Yaila boundary between the various communities in the mountains.
