Ggantija Temples

These amazing temples are the oldest temples in Malta, and they are older than the pyramids of Egypt, as they were established in the Stone Age and are more than 5,500 years old. It is considered the second oldest existing religious structure in the world. These small temples, distributed over vast areas, were ceremonial sites for fertility rituals. Visitors will find at the site buildings, statues and fossils. There is also a small museum that houses some of the most important artifacts collected from the temple area.
