Description of the place
Hadrian's Gate is one of the main and most dramatic gates in the ancient district of Kaleici in Antalya. Large areas of the Hellenistic and Roman city walls have been preserved on the eastern side of the old town, the most notable of which is Hadrian's Gate. Built in honor of the visit of Emperor Hadrian himself in AD 130, this arched marble gateway flanked by stately towers is richly decorated with sculptural decorations.
