The Heidegg Museum is Debrecen's largest regional museum and one of its main attractions. Its building was constructed in three phases between 1762 and 1803, and its last expansion took place in 1871, when the new wing was delivered. The museum's permanent collection has a unique cultural and historical significance. Archaeological, historical, ethnographic and artistic exhibitions present the rich and diverse history of the Hungarian Heidug region and preserve the material and intellectual values of the region's culture.
