Haraldshaugen
Haraldshaugen
national monument located in the south of the city of Stavanger. The monument was erected on the millennium anniversary of the unification of Norway into one kingdom by King Harald Fairhair. The monument was unveiled in 1872 by Crown Prince Oscar, who later became King Oscar II. The monument was designed by Norwegian architect Christian Christie, and designed in the form of a high tower made entirely of granite and surrounded by 29 small towers representing the 29 counties of Norway. Visitors come from all over the world to see this wonderful monument.
