This valley is located in the town of Himchen, which is located 19 km from the Black Sea in Turkey, which is considered a region of green hills, as it is the ethnic homeland of the Himchen peoples in Turkey. As part of the province of Rize, Himche was a refuge for some Cimmerians, the site of early Greek settlements, and part of the Roman Empire, and later the Byzantine Empire.
