The Palace of Vieux Rizan, also known as the Palace of Meynier, dates back to 1518 and is considered one of the finest palaces of the era, as it was originally built for Maynier Berenger; Professor of Law and Lord of Canac and Galicia, and its architectural style was strongly influenced by the Italian Renaissance. Its construction was completed in 1547 by the civil writer Jean Brunet, and its architectural plans were decorated by the famous architect Nicolas Bachelier.
