Houmt Souk

With its bizarre maze of alleyways formed by the presence of exquisite whitewashed houses and shops selling colorful ceramics, Houmt Souk's Old Town Quarter, or Souk District, is designed for strolling and shopping. Displays of traditional handicrafts on the market streets here include Berber jewellery, textiles, traditional shoes, brass, silver and leather goods, and heaps of hand-painted pottery. Being here is a shopaholic's dream. When you're done haggling for the day, head to the small port equipped with boats overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
