Description of the place
In 1982 AD, the municipality of Samsun decided to celebrate the centenary of Atatürk's birth by establishing a memorial, the largest of its kind in the country, the Coming Monument, and the harbor was chosen to be the ground for this architectural masterpiece. The monument shows Ataturk in his military uniform with a number of brave soldiers who led the military campaign with him towards the liberation of the country.
