Istanbul Archaeological Museums

Istanbul Archeology Museums is a group of three museums located in Gülhane Park near Topkapi Palace, and consists of the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of the Ancient Orient, and the Museum of Islamic Art. This museum includes more than a million pieces from all over the world, which represent ancient civilizations from around the world. The museum was built in the nineteenth century, as an attempt to modernize the Ottoman Empire by westernizing the city.
