The Istiqlal Mosque was inaugurated in 1978 AD, and it was named by this name to recall the struggle of the state of Indonesia for national independence. Construction work continued for 17 years and was personally supervised by the first President of the Republic of Indonesia. Today, this mosque has become one of the largest mosques in Southeast Asia in terms of structure and area, as it can accommodate up to 120,000 people, and it has 4 levels with a balcony, and it has a modern architectural design. In addition to being a sacred place of worship, some conferences, seminars and lectures are also held.
