Jankovich Cave

The impressive Old Stone limestone hills near Esztergom are not only popular with tourists, but also with archaeologists, speleologists, geologists, and rock climbers. The cave consists of limestone dating back to the time of the Triassic period. This is not only one of the most amazing caves in Transdanubia, but also one of the most important archaeological sites in this region. The passages of Yankovic Cave were shaped by hot water emerging from the depths and dissolving vaulted holes in the limestone.
