The John Lennon Gardens, a very pretty little park nestled in the hills behind the cathedrals, is a quiet haven for both locals and hordes of tourists, and a great place to start or finish a walk from the old city walls, or just to relax in the extended shade of the mature trees. Sit down and read a book. The garden contains a staircase with many steps that are worth climbing and reaching the top, which provides a charming and wonderful view of the city and the cathedral.
