Jebel Hafeet
Jebel Hafeet is a mountain in the city of Al Ain belonging to the Hajar mountain range and is located on the border between the Sultanate of Oman and the UAE, where it belongs to the Sultanate of Oman on the eastern and southwestern thirds, while the northern part belongs to the UAE. From below, the mountain looks like a "whale on the shore," as described by Wilfred Thesiger in his book Arabian Sands. The summit of Jebel Hafeet rises 1240 meters above sea level, occupying the first place in terms of height in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the fifth place in the United Arab Emirates, after Jebel Jais, Jebel Mabrah, Jebel Al-Rahba, and Jebel Al-Ahqab, respectively. Important monuments have been discovered in its surroundings that represent an essential part of solving the mystery of the ancient history of this city. More than 500 ancient tombs dating back more than 5,000 years were discovered at the foot of Jebel Hafeet.
