Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe
The view of Kaiser Franz Joseph Hohe owes its history and name to the Habsburg ruler, who visited Carinthia in 1856 AD with his wife, Empress Elizabeth. On this occasion, the king went for a walk for several hours in the mountains of the city, which quickly won his admiration and approval, and in honor of this great event, it was decided to establish a monument in this area so that the residents would remember this distinguished visit. Nowadays, you can easily reach this truly royal point by car, motorbike or bus. Apart from the mountains and glaciers, you will also be able to see dozens of cute marmots and, if you are lucky, even the mighty caribou.
