Kanchanaburi War Cemetery
Immaculately preserved by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this is the largest war cemetery in Kanchanaburi, and is one of the places of great value in the city, and a historical landmark that characterizes the city, as it contains 6,982 soldiers buried here, almost half of whom were British. The rest came mainly from Australia and the Netherlands. As you stand at the entrance to the cemetery, the entire right-hand side contains British casualties, the front area contains Australian graves, the left-hand back area contains Dutch and unknown soldiers, and those who have been cremated lie in the leftmost spot.
