Kasbah
Kasbah
This square castle of rock and stone dates back to the 9th century, but was extensively restored in the 14th century to become the seat of the city's governor. It was also adapted to store firearms in the 16th century and was in military use until the 19th century. You can wander inside the walls of the Kasbah for sweeping views of the city's tangled lanes, or get some of the best views that Hammamet has to offer and enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the bay. You can also visit the small museum of the Kasbah, which houses historical exhibits and some interesting Tunisian artifacts.
