Kazbegi National Park
Kazbegi National Park is located high in the Greater Caucasus Mountains, and gained its name from Mount Kazbegi; The sixth highest peak in the Caucasus at an altitude of 5,047 meters and one of the most famous natural landmarks in Georgia. Most of the park's territory consists of snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows and jagged basalt slopes, providing an ideal habitat for the East Caucasian tur and chamois, as well as many endemic bird species. It is one of the most visited protected areas in Georgia, despite its lack of park infrastructure.
